One of the challenges in Mrs.L's blogs challenge is to:
'Write a blog post about somewhere that you would like to visit when you leave school'.
This is very hard as there is so many places in the world I would love to visit. I really want to travel the world! I know, it sounds far fetched but anything is possible right?
So I've decided to change the challenge around a bit, (hope that's okay Mrs.L) and write a blog post about EVERYWHERE I would like to visit when I leave school. Well... as many as I can!
I'll add to this page whenever I get the time to dream about places to visit so sorry if it's slow!
I'd love comments about places you would like to visit or if you've ever visited anywhere I dream about please let me know!
Hope you enjoy :)
SRI LANKA
I recently did a project on Sri Lanka and fell in love. Although it may not be the most stable country and also you have to cover up due to religious reasons I would really like to visit Sri Lanka. There is so many wild life areas such as an elephant orphanage. There are many other wild life and safari parks where you can experience rare species in their natural habitat.I would really like to experience the everyday life in Sri Lanka as they have some interesting customs such as when dining at a Sri Lankans home you will have to wait about two hours before the food is served and you should leave within half an hour of finishing the meal. Also you eat with your right hand and use bread or balls of rice to scoop food off your plate.
A festival in Sri Lanka I would love to visit it Vesak.Thousands of oil lamps are set off into the night to celebrate the Buddhists holiest day of the year, Vesak. The smell of burning coconut oil and tropical perfumes fill the night of Vesak.
Vesak falls every year during the full moon. It celebrates the birth, enlightenment and the death of Lord Buddha.
I would love to learn about the Buddhist religion in Sri Lanka as it is very popular.
