We had our first Thursday of Ty today and that meant our first fun afternoon! We all changed into our comfy tracksuits at lunchtime and were ready for our new activities. The three classes; Fólda Eiru and Banba each rotated in the three activities. They are dancing, photography and pilates.
Firstly our class Fódla had photography with the lovely Rob.
He told us about himself and how he got interested in photography. Rob showed us slides of amazing pictures he had taken, and explained some tricks like slowing down the shutter speed and mainly using the flash for people only. A black and white picture of baby's feet with a brightly coloured flower at the toes was one of my many favourites.
Next we headed to pilates, everyone was anxious to know what to do as we quickly realized it was much more of a work-out than yoga. We really enjoyed it though and had a great laugh as some positions were a little impossible for us newbies.
All stretched and ready for action we headed for the last activity of the day, dancing. It was no ordinary modern dancing though, we're learning 1920 and 1950 swing style dancing! Straight away everyone knew it would be a blast, with Ms.O'R getting into every move and pouting her lips (telling us to copy her!). No doubt my favourite move was the charleston, but all the quick movements of your feet and swinging of the hands is so much fun!
Now everybody is saying how much they love Thursday so bring on next week! :)

p.s here's a link to a cool example of charleston dancing, hopefully we'll be dancing like them soon, dresses and all.
